I don’t know about you, but honey and chocolate are two of my favorite foods. It truly is hard to have a favorite, I know – but seriously when Genji from Great Lakes Bee Co was at Frederick Meijer Gardens with me in July 2016 and gave me this great idea for a honey chocolate candy.
I had to try it! It sounded too simple to be true – a two ingredient candy!
She brought me a sample on the second day of demonstrations – and I was hooked. Honestly – this was simply delicious.
It’s really easy. A mouthwatering, almost like a chocolate caramel candy! I don’t know what to call it.
I took 6 ounces of honey and warmed it to about 100 degrees and added 8 ounces of dark chocolate and stirred until it was fully melted and combined. I poured it into silicone mini muffin molds, gave it a few taps to release any air bubbles and let it set over night.
It was 90° in Michigan – so I placed them in the freezer for 20 minutes and popped them out of their molds.
Yes it was a bit messy as I wasn’t exactly sure how I was going to do this – next time a piping bag!
I know I will do this again!
